Based in the heart of Melbourne, e.g.etal is an iconic Australian gallery representing over 50 independent jewellery artists. Our mission is to promote the artistry and craftsmanship of contemporary jewellery while delivering an unforgettable experience for both artists and clients.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will be the strategic and operational backbone of e.g.etal, ensuring the smooth running and continued growth of the business. This role requires a leader who can balance commercial acumen with creative vision, fostering an environment where both the brand and its people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Director to develop and execute the company’s vision, ensuring e.g.etal remains at the forefront of the contemporary jewellery industry.
• Sales & Business Growth: Drive revenue growth through gallery and online sales, setting targets and ensuring the sales team is equipped to meet them.
• Brand & Marketing: Oversee marketing initiatives, partnerships, and events that enhance e.g.etal’s reputation and visibility.
• Curation & Artist Relations: Collaborate with the Artist Manager to curate a dynamic collection  and support the growth of our artists.
• Team Leadership: Build and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring clear roles, professional development, and a culture of excellence.
• Customer Experience: Ensure an exceptional customer journey, particularly for those seeking unique engagement and wedding rings or heirloom-quality pieces.
• Operations: Oversee business operations and facility management optimising efficiency while maintaining the highest standards.

• A proven track record in business management, ideally in a retail, arts, or design-focused environment.
• Strong a strong marketing background with sales experience and commercial acumen.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and empower a team.
• An appreciation for contemporary jewellery, design, or the arts.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, from artists to customers to strategic partners.
