Gallery Marketing & Design Coordinator / Artist Liaison
- Tertiary education in Arts, Arts Administration, Art History, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in the visual arts industry
- Strong graphic design skills, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Sketch Up and Artlogic Database Desired.
- Experience in digital marketing and social media platforms.
- Photography and Image editing skills.
- Excellent organisational and time/ project management and planning skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Methodical file management.
- Experience in a retail environment and excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the art world and contemporary art trends.
- Great team player and the ability to work autonomously.
- Agility to work in a fast-paced environment in a small team.
- Quick learner.
- Create and manage exhibition calendars, timelines, and schedules for artists, including required assets (artwork photography, statements, CVs, artwork delivery).
- Collaborate on exhibition design and create layout concepts (SketchUp)
- Facilitating exhibition consignment notes with the artists
- Communicate and keep track of deadlines for artists
- Coordinate group exhibitions (up to 4 per year)
- Build strong relationships with artists, regular communication on the phone and via email
- Provide artists with guidance and support throughout the exhibition process
- Coordinate all marketing activity
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase gallery visibility and attract new visitors and audiences.
- Create visually appealing designs for exhibition catalogues, advertising, invitations and gallery branding. Digital and Print (InDesign & Google Slides)
- Ensure consistency in the gallery’s visual identity.
- Manage the production of printed catalogues and other hard-copy marketing material.
- Create engaging content for various channels, including social media, website, press releases, and email marketing.
- Creation of digital assets including GIFs, short videos and email signatures etc
- Email Campaigns (two per week) – design, proof and deliver campaigns
- Produce and design monthly gallery newsletters
- Manage collector preview exhibition campaign emails
- Creating Google Workplace surveys to register artists/ exhibition interest
- Manage, collate, and analyse data for all marketing campaigns and events.
- Social Media – Strategy and implementation. Instagram, Facebook, LinkdIn – Produce quarterly engagement analysis.
- Daily posts and updates for exhibitions, prizes and news.
- Working with the Director to develop marketing strategies
- Coordination and distribution of content: video and written
- Build relationships with key media contacts.
- Import client data and exhibition artworks using artist consignment notes and mailing lists.
- Maintain artist interest lists.
- Creating exhibition and client private views.
- Photograph artwork to a professional standard. (Desired)
- Exhibition installation documentation photographs.
- Edit, grade and revise images. (Adobe Bridge & Photoshop)
- File management.
- Maintain and update the gallery website (News, Content, CV, Bios) and launch exhibitions.
- Regularly update the ‘curated stockroom’ on the website to reflect current available artworks.
- Exemplary written skills are desired for artist/ exhibition blurbs, press releases and gallery newsletters.
- Write additional content for social media and email campaigns.
- Assist in planning and coordination of artist essays with external writers.
- Engage with gallery visitors and share information regarding the artworks (shared)
- Sell artwork (support role to Sales team)
- Prompt responses to artwork/artist enquiries (shared)
- Design client proposals
- Create client visualisations (mock-ups)
- Assist with coordination and management of logistics and gallery dinners and events
- Assist the Gallery Director, Manager, and Sales Associate to manage guest lists, invites, and RSVPs, seating charts.
- Participate in gallery openings, art fairs and events as required
- Assist in the curation of gallery common space and maintain the presentation of gallery space
- Assist the team with the presentation of artwork for clients including holding and lifting artworks.
- Attend selected museums, events and art fairs as a gallery representative and cultivate strong relationships with clients and relevant personnel.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the visual arts and desire to make them accessible to diverse audiences.
- Creative thinker with a strong commitment to developing effective marketing and sales strategies.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Qualifications and Experience

Demonstrated experience in Marketing and Design within an art-based institution or similar context.

Experience in developing and executing successful marketing and promotional campaigns in Digital and Print to engage diverse audiences.
- Exemplary written and spoken presentation and communication skills, with an eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with artists and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, work efficiently to deadlines and manage direct reports.
- Experience in Design and database/CRM management (e.g. Artlogic) and working with programs and platforms, such as WordPress, MailChimp/Campaign Artlogic, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign and Illustrator, Sketchup
- Flexibility to undertake out-of-hours work if required
- Tertiary education in Arts, Arts Administration, Arts Management, Art History, Marketing or equivalent field with at least 2 years of experience in the visual arts industry or equivalent is preferred.
