Gallery Manager

The organisation is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Gallery Manager to join our small and dedicated team.

About this role:

The ideal candidate is a motivated, organised, solution focused, resourceful, and reliable person that can manage multiple tasks in a busy work environment.

The role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities including overseeing general gallery operations, scheduling, co-ordinating meetings and deliveries, gallery/office maintenance and management, administration, and artwork handling.

The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of Australian and international contemporary art, and relevant educational experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for liaising with artists, clients, industry professionals and general enquiries. In addition to the development of copy for press and social media, website and database maintenance, updating artist biographies and curriculum vitae. Proven experience with Microsoft Office 365, InDesign, and Photoshop are essential, and WordPress and SharePoint an advantage.

Position terms:

This is a full-time ongoing position, Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-6pm, with a six-month probation period. Salary commensurate with experience $65,000 – $75,000, and 11.5% superannuation.
