Fashion Designer - Womenswear
The S.Kidman heritage Australian brand is growing rapidly, and as such a rare opportunity is available to join the Design team at S.Kidman as a Womenswear Designer.

Kidman & Co, established in 1899, has recently become the custodian of these brands and aims to expand the product offering and grow recognition for its authentic heritage and pioneering spirit around the world.
We are looking for someone who can play a pivotal role in contributing to the creative and strategic development of the brand’s product offerings. The person who fills this role will be asked to create innovative designs, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and market demands. By collaborating closely with the Head of Design and senior management team, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end design process.
What we will be expecting of you…
- Design product for seasonal collections, ensuring alignment to the brands strategic vision
- Be responsible for designing and creating compelling designs and be accountable for the relevance and execution of the global and market trends.
- Work in collaboration with the product team to design and deliver highly relevant, commercial product; with a clear brand image that appeals to our customer.
- Actively assist the Head of Design to develop and strengthen the ranges and the resourcefulness and flexibility of the design team.
- Be customer focused, commercial and coordinate product ranges that both grow sales, and position our brand as a premium Australian heritage brand.
- Be a positive influence for the design team.
- Build solid relationships with key suppliers and the wider apparel team.
- Ensure the range achieves financial targets/margins, whist adhering to the critical path and all quality requirements.
- Conduct market research and trend analysis to ensure designs are on-trend and aligned with customer preferences.
- Maintain a knowledge of industry standards, competitor products, and emerging trends
RequirementsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field
- 3-4 years experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and technical design
- The ability to communicate effectively, applying influence across the business regarding production & product.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to affect and manage change.
- Strong background in product design/management with the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrate flexibility whilst being able to work independently.
- Strong skills in using Adobe CS suites.
- Must be highly organised.
- Ability to work in a team driven atmosphere with the ability to work with all types of personalities.
