The Role
Our client is seeking a highly creative and forward-thinking Designer to join their dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will work closely with Product Developers and Technicians to bring innovative and distinctive designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process from trend conception to bulk approval, collaborating with Product Developers and Technicians.
- Create innovative styles that align with the brand’s aesthetic and meet creative and technical requirements.
- Translate current trends into commercially viable and brand-relevant designs.
- Develop and refine design concepts using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring design integrity.
- Apply strong garment construction knowledge and select appropriate materials for style and functionality.
- Produce detailed tech packs with all necessary specifications for accurate production.
- Source materials and collaborate with suppliers to develop fabrics and trims.
- Manage fit sessions, provide detailed comments, and ensure adherence to critical path timelines.
- Liaise with suppliers to maintain production timelines and oversee lab dip approvals.
- Maintain organised fabric and trim libraries and update records in Style Arcade for data accuracy.
Skills & Experience
- Womenswear fashion experience a must.
- Minimum years of experience in a similar role: 3-5 years.
- Aware of trends and new ideas within fashion and social, with the ability to interpret those.
- Ability to balance business goals.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines, quickly managing changing priorities.
- Superior organisational and communications skills.
- Competent to advanced in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator. (Including pattern and colour fills)
- Style Arcade preferred, however not essential.
- 3D Product platforms advantageous.
- Print artwork / placements advantageous.
- Experience with points of measure, spec creation and grading advantageous.
