The Role

We are looking for a highly collaborative, experienced, and passionate professional to join our expanding team that wants to face the world with good humour, out of the box thinking and a love for the puzzle that is getting live entertainment from ideation to actualisation! The successful applicant will directly report to the CEO, Head of Production and lead a variety of productions from go to wo! 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget creation, implementation, and management.
  • With the CEO and Head of Production, develop, manage, and update the production budget, as required. 
  • Implementation and adherence to the terms as outlined in the production’s licencing agreement.
  • Management of the day-to-day operations of the production.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the creative team (International and Local) for the production.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the producers and partners (International and local) of a production.  
  • Manage the co-ordination of all production related departments including but not limited to creative, finance, technical, company management, casting, publicity, marketing, and ticketing. 
  • Liaise with the technical director/production manager to ensure all technical aspects of the production are being managed including but not limited to, scheduling, budgeting, staffing contractors and employees, set/props/costume/lighting/sound/video & projection builds or refurbishment, venue liaison, bump-in, pre-production management, in season management, production moves, tour logistics, the hiring of staff, documentation, WHS implementation, production closure. 
  • In collaboration with the CEO and Head of Production appoint creative associates, performers, musicians, pre-production staff, resident creatives, company management, touring and local crew and associated contractors. 
  • In collaboration with the CEO and Head of Production, negotiate and manage contracts with key production suppliers and partners.
  • Manage the contracting of the production’s employees and contractors including negotiation of fees as per the agreed budget.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Head of Production, Technical Director, company management and resident creative team on all employee and contractor related matters. 
  • Create where necessary and maintain the production timeline/critical path and the performance schedule. 
  • Prepare and direct production meetings/calls.
  • Ensure thorough archiving of all commercial information such as production bibles, marketing bibles, sales analysis and general management reports and documentation.
  • Oversee and direct the production’s Associate Producer and other key JONES Staff as required.
  • Any other duties as may be required by the CEO and/or Head of Production.

Successful Applicants will have

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role in the industry.
  • Fierce attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Proven expertise in both working within a team and leading a group of people. 
  • A working knowledge of local awards including the Performers Collective Agreement. 
  • A track record of being great to work with. 
  • A desire to be part of a small close team and thrive in that environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of production budgets and financial management for both large scale and small-scale projects. 
  • Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
  • Efficient and effective time management and delegation abilities.

Job Status: Full time including work on weekends and public holidays when required. Attendance in the office 5 days a week is expected.

Salary: negotiable based on experience.

Location: The role will be based out of the JONES Sydney Office in Pyrmont NSW.

Start Date: 2nd January 2025 if not before.
