Sydney Dance Company seeks a Director Producing

Reporting to the Executive Director and working with the Artistic Director, this updated role of Director Producing is a crucial member of Sydney Dance Company’s Senior Leadership Team. This role leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of the breadth of the company’s performance and touring activity, encompassing Ensemble performances and Associate Artists projects, across local, national, and international markets, as well as overseeing the strategic use of Sydney Dance Company venues to achieve commercial, artistic, and audience engagement goals, particularly through sector development and engagement.

Leading a small producing team, this role works closely with all members of the Senior Leadership Team, particularly the Rehearsal Director and Technical Director. This role will have direct contact with the Board of Sydney Dance Company and external stakeholders at a high level.

The position will suit a highly experienced programmer or producer, with a deep understanding of the Australian and international performing arts industry, cultural sector, and local, national and international touring environment, with a particular focus on dance and contemporary artforms, supported by active professional networks. The successful candidate will have a commitment to working within an environment that is artistically led and customer focused, acutely developed planning, negotiation and budgeting skills, with a passion for collaboration, quality, detail, creativity, and innovation.
