Since its establishment over 50 years ago, Rockhampton Art Gallery has provided the region of Central Queensland with a visual arts centre that excites, engages and challenges audiences.
Rockhampton Museum of Art is where art is shared, bringing major touring exhibitions to the region, and showcasing the region’s own creativity to the world. We’re here to celebrate our place and our people of Central Queensland, showcasing artists and artworks with a deep resonance to our region. Rockhampton Museum of Art will be the centre for visual arts in Central Queensland.
As the Curator, you will lead the development and delivery of innovative exhibitions, curatorial programs, and participatory experiences that inspire, engage, and connect with diverse audiences. Building on more than 50 years of artistic heritage, RMOA is now a state-of-the-art 4,711sqm facility in the heart of Rockhampton’s cultural precinct, celebrating local creativity and showcasing national and international work.
What we are looking for
Experience in developing, delivering and reviewing design and production methodologies, budgets, financial and performance management for curatorial exhibitions and collections.
Achievement driven individual with the ability to develop, monitor and continually improve programs that engage conceptually and physically with the region’s community and its visitors.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of stakeholders and work collaboratively as an effective team member.
Organisational skills to strive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
Ability to produce presentations and reports in a professional manner that have the ability to influence, create positive change and leave an impression on stakeholders.
