About the role

Join ACMI as a Collections Technician (casual) and support digitisation, preservation, programming and innovation projects plus the ongoing management of the ACMI Collection. Reporting to the Time-based Media Conservator, the role also assists in the maintenance and storage of works as well as supporting registration and conservation activities.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Qualifications relevant to film and video preservation and/or equivalent training and experience working with audio-visual materials.
  • Demonstrated experience with film and magnetic tape video handling, playback and maintenance of associated equipment.
  • Experience with or knowledge of film and magnetic tape video digitisation processes and video editing software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Well-developed administrative and organisation skills, including time management, attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing demands.

  • This Grade 2 role is offered on a casual basis with a casual hourly rate of $35.83 plus super. Most shifts occur weekdays between 9am-5pm.
