Job Type: Full Time

Location: Newcastle & Nelson Bay (Head Office)

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

Join our passionate dream team at YOUR HOME DESIGNS. Working across small to large scale residential projects in our brand new, light-filled and beautifully designed HQ in Nelson Bay.

As many of our projects are located in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast LGA’s, a Hybrid flexible working arrangement is offered that would suit a Newcastle based person, having the ability to WFH on select days.

We are passionate about creating beautiful spaces, working collaboratively with our clients, our team, consultants and builders to successful produce and complete projects.

Work directly with amazing clients to create, coordinate and execute a wide range of projects from dream homes, multi-res developments, holiday properties, and more.

About you:

• Looking for a purposeful, long-term career, and eager to exceed professionally
• Must be able to reach minimum targets, be self-motivated and have a hard working attitude
• Must live in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast or Port Stephens LGA

 Key Responsibilities:  

• Overseeing all aspects of the project from initial client meetings through to final construction documentation and handover to builder
• Review of property information, local council requirements and physical site constraints
• On-site visits and measuring projects
• Concept development based upon client brief and council/site constraints
• 3D Model development
• Preparation of Development Applications to Council or Complying Development Plans to Private Certifier
• Preparation of council documentation (ie Statement of environmental effects, BASIX assessments, Waste Management plans, DA & CDC Applications etc)
• Liaising with Council/Private Certifier and other consultants as required
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations
• Work with clients, consultants, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner

Minimum Experience: 

• Minimum 3 years experience working as a Building Designer, Draftsperson or a similar role on residential projects in Australia
• Proficiency in Archicad is essential
• Strong construction knowledge, understanding of building regulations, DCP & LEP planning controls
