Platform Arts
Artistic Director & Co-CEO

Platform Arts, based in Djilang / Geelong is looking for our next Artistic Director & Co-CEO to help lead the delivery of our 2025 - 2028 strategy.
About Platform Arts
Platform Arts, based on Wadawurrung Country in Djilang/Geelong, focuses on the development of artistic practice and ideas, leading to the presentation of these ideas as contemporary arts experiences. We curate a multi-artform program of exhibitions, performances, publications and events that respond to themes and provocations we believe are urgent for our times.
Our artistic program is underpinned by a rigorous artist development framework that
incorporates arts laboratories, residencies, mentorship, professional development and artist-led training. We evolve this support in response to the need for accessible opportunities that sustain arts careers outside of Australia’s capital cities.
We are committed to developing artistic practice that will sustain practitioners throughout the lifetime of their career, and to fostering a local arts ecology that connects and contributes to a global artistic discourse. We partner with leading arts organisations, programs and festivals to provide additional presentation opportunities for our artists and to strengthen the impact of our development and advocacy work. Locally, our support of contemporary practice fosters the growth of regional contemporary arts audiences.
Platform Arts delivered on the goals and key measures outlined in its 2022-24 strategic plan, maintaining financial sustainability, developing new strategic partnerships, and growing audience and artist engagement exponentially during this time. We go into the 2025-28 strategic plan in a strong fiscal and organisational position, having secured multi-year funding through Creative Australia’s multi-arts practice stream. This trajectory of growth, supported by healthy financial reserves and a consistent budget surplus puts us in a strong position to extend the impact of our work to audiences and artists.
Platform Arts is uniquely positioned, in the primely located Geelong Arts Precinct, to become a crucial hub for contemporary arts making and presentation. Our small, dedicated team brings substantial experience as well as national and international industry connections that are highly beneficial to nurturing and championing our region’s arts community.
