Join us for a virtual museum tour at MAP mima where the immersive 360-degree projection Cube is transformed into a gallery of artworks representing female, non-binary and transgender perspectives. The guided tour will trace the history of artists whose work has typically been diminished or excluded from the art canon.
Our state-of-the-art 360-degree projection Cube will be transformed into a stunning gallery showcasing the often hidden perspectives of non-binary, transgender and female experiences. This immersive experience will explore the rich and diverse history of people who defied social conventions and fought against institutional exclusions and inequities.
Our guide will lead you through the evolution of art across continents, highlighting significant movements and iconic gender diverse and women artists who have helped to shape art-historical narratives and yet continue to be significantly underrepresented. Stereotypes, unconscious (and conscious) bias, and historical norms have acted as barriers to equal representation. This virtual tour offers visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the cultural contributions of women and gender diverse people and to reconsider and challenge the canon.
