Join us for a special event that mixes art and history with our current Artist in Residence, Beric Henderson. The event includes a one-hour artist talk at the Artist in Residence Cottage and a one-hour tour with morning tea at the Carss Cottage Museum, which inspired Beric’s latest artworks.
Beric will talk about how his work in science and art has shaped his creative process, helping him to develop new art techniques. He will share stories from his time working as a scientist at CSIRO, along with his experiences with Nobel Prize winners and film directors.
Participants will get to see how Beric creates his artworks, including sketches and studies from his research in Carss Bush Park. He will show how he imagines the past and present of the area, and explain his special method for making 3-D paintings.
After Beric’s talk, the group will take a three-minute walk to enjoy a tour of the Carss Cottage Museum with morning tea. Home to the Kogarah Historical Society, it has a collection of historical artifacts and photographs. This museum inspired Beric’s work during his residency at Carss Park.
Don’t miss this chance to explore about the connections between science, art and history with Beric Henderson. For more information about Beric Henderson, visit our Artist in Residence page.
