Terry Swann is one of Australia’s foremost contemporary watercolourists.
She has been a professional painter most of her life and travels extensively to outback Australia- painting on location. Pristine and remote areas are her passion. She uses her emotional response to capture the essence of the land- in colour texture and movement.
Terry’s love of nature came from living in an aboriginal community in far North Queensland where she volunteered to teach arts to the community.
She has had over 28 solo exhibitions and her work is held in public and private collections both here and abroad. Her paintings can be found in the Federal Government offices in Brisbane, The State Library of Brisbane and Regional Galleries.
Terry’s latest body of work has been done over three years with nine seperate painting trips across the top end of Australia. Recently the sacred Stone Country of Arnhem Land has captured her imagination and has kept drawing her back.
