As part of the Sundays in the Sound Gallery series, MPAC presents Sharon & Slava Grigoryan, a dynamic duo comprising cello (Sharon Grigoryan) and guitar (Slava Grigoryan). Their dynamic performances explore a blend of cultures, genres, and generations through a fresh wave of compositions and arrangements.

Together, Sharon & Slava Grigoryan have achieved great success, with their debut album Our Place (ABC) being nominated for Best Classical Album at the 2020 ARIA Awards. Individually, both artists have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields.

Sharon Grigoryan’s career spans performances with all of Australia’s major symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles on the cello. In 2023, she was appointed Associate Principal Cello with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

On guitar, Slava Grigoryan is a four-time ARIA Award winner who has toured Europe, Asia, and the USA. Known as a virtuoso, he has also performed in Brazil, South Africa, India, and the Middle East, adding to his international acclaim.

Together, their performance on 18 May forms part of the 2025 Sundays in the Sound Gallery series, which highlights intimate performances from world-class artists.
