Learn the fundamentals of traditional and contemporary watercolour painting!
Watercolour paint is a relaxing and fluid medium that can be lots of fun, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! This workshop series will touch on what materials to use, brush techniques, experimental techniques and everything else you need to know to start your watercolour journey.
This workshop series is suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced watercolour artists who want to experiment and play with painting outside the box!
This is a four-part series. Sessions can be attended independently, however participants are encouraged to attend all four to build on their skills! Each class will explore different subjects and techniques.
All materials provided. Bookings are essential.

Session 1 | Saturday 1 March – Art Shops Are So Overwhelming!
Learn about watercolour materials and their uses, and experiment with traditional techniques to create a multidimensional watercolour masterpiece.
Session 2 | Saturday 15 March – Glazing Isn’t Just for Cupcakes?
Explore colour manipulation through techniques like glazing, and learn how to mix your own colours.
Session 3 | Saturday 22 March – Experimental Watercolours
Explore with materials other than brushes and learn contemporary applications of watercolour paint.
Session 4 | Saturday 29 March – Compose your Chef d’Oeuvre
After learning different watercolour techniques, create your own style and be guided step by step to create a masterpiece worthy of hanging in a museum.
About The Facilitator
Tash Jackson is a watercolour artists who uses her artistic practice to explore her own romantic views of the world around her, and pushes the boundaries of how watercolour paint is traditionally used.
