RIVER FEST X | 26-28 JULY 2024

A decade can seem like a long time, or it can seem like no time has passed at all.

This year is the 10th year of Rockhampton River Festival. To signify this milestone anniversary, this year’s theme of ‘reflection’ encourages festival goers to acknowledge and celebrate the transformation and growth the region and the community, has experienced since the festival’s inception in 2014.

Situated on the mighty Tunuba (Fitzroy River), surrounded by the natural and built heritage-listed Quay Street, over 35,000 people are expected to come together in the heart of the city to celebrate this monumental three-day event, River Fest X.

Highlights of the River Fest X program include:

The Ironing Maidens live electronic experience is the absolute most fun you will ever have while thinking about housework.

Award Winning Show GODZ by Head First Acrobats presents a hedonistic dive head-first into the lives of the ancient gods of Olympus! Follow your favourite gods like Cupid and Hercules as they paint the scene of Ancient Greece and bring you to the biggest party to hit Mount Olympus since 500 BCE.

Hyper Temples Build and Destroy is described by ØFFERINGS (the artist, Melissa Gilbert) as a ‘living, breathing series of tactile object-works that will morph shape and move. Join ØFFERINGS for a demolition party, building and destroying large scale Hyper Temples.

Welcome to The Bubble Canteen, a magical installation where the air sparkles with 12,000 bubbles each minute; a world of wonder and delight, capturing and connecting directly to the hearts of the audience.

The ‘Before I Die’ art wall by Candy Chang became a worldwide phenomenon and as part of this year’s festival, Rockhampton will join one of 5,000 locations around the world that have become spaces for this highly impactful and thought-provoking piece of art.

Explore the Artist Collective adjacent to the award-winning Rockhampton Museum of Art where local artists showcase their creativity with pop-up markets and workshops.

Plus don’t miss free live music from headliners Eskimo Joe, Dan Sultan, Travis Collins. Hosting an eclectic mix of performances across all three-days, this music lineup promises the biggest Rockhampton has seen!
