Building on the legacy of the Maryborough Music Conference, the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) in partnership with the Queensland Department of Education is delighted to introduce the Queensland Music Education Conference – QMEC 2025.
QMEC 2025 has so much to offer for music educators. The program features a fantastic array of quality international and local clinicians, conductors, musicians and presenters, as well as the chance to participate in practical sessions and musical ensembles, social events and networking.
Taking place in Brisbane/Meanjin, Australia, on 7 – 9 July 2025, at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University, QMEC 2025 is ideal for:
- Classroom music educators (primary and secondary) across Australia
- Instrumental and vocal music teachers and instructors across Australia (state and private)
- Music administrators
- School ensemble directors and conductors
With more than 100 sessions to choose from, you’ll self-select your sessions and have the flexibility to choose any of the topics on offer. We have a dynamic program of events across a variety of streams: Primary Classroom, Secondary Classroom, Woodwind, Brass, Percussion and Strings, as well as Technology and Choral.
QMEC 2025 also offers a suite of performance and pedagogy ensembles, making it the only conference in Australia where delegates bring their musical instruments, rehearse together in ensembles under the direction of clinician conductors, and perform at a gala concert on the final day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to not only develop new teaching strategies, but also focus on the real-time development of your own instrumental skills and artistic practice.
In addition QMEC 2025 has an exciting social program across the three days of the conference, from a welcome reception and networking opportunities to a conference dinner and gala concert.
