‘Dark Waters’ showcases paintings and drawings through which artist Mary Koniavitis explores the enigmatic depths of the unconscious.
In the works, Koniavitis reimagines ancient myths and archetypes with a fragmented, non-linear style that mirrors the elusive nature of dreams.
The work is imagined by the artist as portals to other realms and alternate realities, where we reconstruct memories and the limitations of perception, seeing the world in fragmented glimpses rather than in its entirety
