The art in this exhibition is based on the struggles of the African people, particularly the women and children. Africa is a continent that experiences financial, disease and mental health challenges. Yet, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Africa receives the least amount of mental health services.
Conversely, Africa is rich in colour, beauty, and creative expression. Brigitte has witnessed the great beauty of the people, the generosity they show one another, and their smiles and laughter. The colours of their clothing and the breathtaking landscapes of the indigenous Maasai highlands are also a highlight for the artist.
