The photos, explores the spiritual life of the Sumbanese people, highlighting their devotion, communal gatherings, and the profound significance of their traditions.
Key moments include the Pasola festival, a thrilling spear-fighting event symbolising the harmony between humans and nature, and various aspects of tribal life that showcase the community’s deep-rooted customs and social structures. From the intricate Marapu beliefs to the colourful rituals that mark life’s milestones, this series offers a visual journey into a world where spirituality and daily life are deeply intertwined.
