Take a scenic drive to Woolmers Estate and be rewarded with world-class quality chamber music. Our series of intimate concerts in this picturesque heritage venue is fast becoming a tradition for Tasmania’s classical music lovers.
We open our 2025 series with Elgar’s Romance for bassoon and string quartet. This majestic double reed instrument is usually tucked away in our wind section, but you will see it up close and personal when our TSO Principal Bassoon Tahnee van Herk performs the solo.
Our friendly ensemble will also play a string quartet from celebrated Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin, and bassoon once again steals the show in our locally arranged sonata by Saint-Saëns.
