Circus artists latest to be caught up in changing insurance market
Rising insurance costs are hitting some parts of the sector hard. Among the worst affected are independent circus artists, whose dwindling insurance options are forcing them to make impossible choices.

High on the worry-list of many in the arts right now is the changing nature of the insurance market, which is bringing new cost burdens for some, and a series of tough decisions for others.
ArtsHub's Arts Feature Writer Jo Pickup is based in Perth. An arts writer and manager, she has worked as a journalist and broadcaster for media such as the ABC, RTRFM and The West Australian newspaper, contributing media content and commentary on art, culture and design.
