Katrina Sedgwick OAM will step down as Director and CEO of ACMI (the Australian Centre for the Moving Image) to take up the role of Director and CEO of Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation (MAP Co), after more than seven years at the helm of Australia’s national museum for screen culture.
Sedgwick will step into a new role spearheading the $1.7 billion transformation of Melbourne Arts Precinct (MAP) Co, which will have responsibility for both Federation Square and a new 18,000 sq metre elevated public park. It’s a job Sedgwick is in prime position to manage after the major makeover of ACMI which she oversaw during the challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns.
