Samuel Leighton-Dore, a writer and artist whose work explores masculinity, mental health and sexuality, always thought he was bullied at school because he was gay, but now believes it was because he didn’t fit into the conventional norms of what we perceive to be manly. His show Fragile Masculinity, Handle with Care, showing at Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, seeks to explore this.
