Castlemaine Art Museum closes to confront crisis

The much loved regional Victorian gallery closes its doors to the public as it considers how to become more sustainable.

Facing a range of financial and operational challenges, Castlemaine Art Museum (CAM) has decided to close its doors to the public, effective Friday 11 August 2017. The closure leaves six employees jobless.

CAM Directors have given themselves two years to restructure the organisation, aiming to re-open for the Castlemaine Festival in 2019.
