Tuesday’s budget contained few surprises for the arts sector, but university students could be forced to pay more for their degrees, and to pay them off sooner.
Treasurer Scott Morrison announced that tertiary students will have to pay an extra $2,000 to $3,600 for a four-year course. That’s a fee increase of 1.8% next year, and 7.5% by 2022.
