Shadow Minister for the Arts, the Honourable Mark Dreyfus QC, has called the Abbott-Turnbull Government’s lack of support for the arts ‘shameful’ and pledged to champion the sector if Labor is elected this year.
‘Labor will return lost money to the Australia Council and rebuild the trust and confidence in the arts sector which has been trashed by the Abbott-Turnbull government,’ Dreyfus said in a statement today.
