The Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) will expand its post-graduate offerings in 2016.

The Master of Screen Art enables the most talented and merit selected creative practitioners to develop their craft at the highest level  through research, mentorships and practice over three semesters. Over the course of the program students will be nurtured to develop new work, furthering their creative skills and developing their creative voice. Dynamic and intense the course is focused on preparing the future leaders of the screen industry .  Entry is highly competitive with  limited places available.

AFTRS is also offering four highly specialised postgraduate certificates in 2016, which offer screen practitioners who are ready to refine their craft skills in one of the specialist areas the opportunity to hone their skill sets. The Graduate Certificates in Editing Drama and in Screenwriting Fundamentals will run over two semesters while the Graduate Certificates in Directing Fundamentals and Documentary Fundamentals take place over one semester. As part-time offerings, these courses are designed to suit both those already working in the industry and or those at an early stage of their careers. AFTRS is mindful of real-life circumstances and the flexibility of the Graduate Certificates allows for  sustained engagement with the content and study-life balance.

All  AFTRS students benefit from the cross-disciplinary and collaborative nature of the School , the world-class  facilities and gear as well as  guidance from leading screen practitioners.

Among the alumni are some of Australia’s most successful filmmakers including Academy Award winners Jane Campion (The Piano) and Dion Beebe (Memoirs of a Geisha).
