Members of the Victorian arts sector turned out in force on Wednesday for the first public hearing held as part of the Senate Inquiry into the impact of the 2014 and 2015 Commonwealth Budget decisions on the Arts.
Senators heard the concerns of a range of arts industry representatives, including Tamara Winikoff from the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) and Nicole Beyer, Theatre Network Victoria (TNV) representing ArtsPeak; Lyn Morgain, Chair of Footscray Community Arts Centre; Esther Anatolitis, Director, Regional Arts Victoria; Kate Larsen, Director, Writers Victoria, and others, including members of the theatre, dance and literary sectors.
