When schools present a syllabus to teach our kids, the educational institution effectively privileges certain forms of knowledge over others.

Sometimes this knowledge is consciously or unconsciously naturalised as generic truth or history. Sometimes, in progressive educational environments, teachers are able to question and critique how knowledge is produced.
