‘Goldfish have a longer attention span than humans.’ This was the alarming statement with which John Kaldor, Founder of Kaldor Public Art Projects, opened his Remix keynote. Apparently ​goldfish are willing to engage for nine seconds, while ​humans are held captive for a mere seven. Humans could make it to 12 seconds in 2000, so what is going on?
Simply, it is the mobile revolution. Nearly every presenter over Remix Sydney’s two-day summit reported that their audience traffic had moved to the mobile device – 60% ,70%, even 80% swings in the ​past couple of years.
