Darwin Festival placed under administration

The future of Darwin Festival is in doubt with the NT Government dismissing the board on Wednesday.

The Board of Darwin Festival – chaired by former Labor chief minister Clare Martin – has been dismissed by the Northern Territory’s Director General of Licensing, Cindy Bravos.

Decisions about the Festival’s future are now in the hands of a statutory manager appointed to run the Festival for 2016, however the government has assured staff and stakeholders that funds were available to ensure the 2016 Festival goes ahead.
