Jonathan Holloway loves festivals. Speaking at Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre recently, the former Artistic Director of Perth International Arts Festival – who takes over the helm of Melbourne Festival from 2016 – spoke passionately about the important role festivals play in advancing the careers of artists and activating the cities in which they live and work.
